Great food on both sides of the river

You eat wonderfully in Ayamonte: fresh Atlantic fish and seafood, rice dishes, tapas by the port and seafaring cuisine in the old town. But the good food does not end there: close by are the beach bars of Isla Canela, with their fried fish and seaside atmosphere, and across the river, the Portuguese Algarve, with its seafood restaurants in Vila Real de Santo António, Monte Gordo and Tavira. Here are some of our favourite places to eat nearby.
